With the aim of publishing academic research in relation to the theme of the representations, practices, objects and agents that make up Western esotericism understood as historical-cultural phenomenon, and oriented to specialists and researchers in humanities and social sciences, Melancolía arises in 2016 as the official annual magazine of the Study Center on Western Esotericism of the Union of South American Nations (CEEO-UNASUR).
This Center was created in August 2011 by its current director, Dr. Juan Pablo Bubello, as a result of his training and doctoral research and his experience as a teacher and researcher at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the University of Buenos Aires. Likewise, the center has a biannual newsletter aimed at publishing news, interviews and information for both specialized and general public.
